Transformers

Ok, I'm most likely not the only one who messed around with the tranformers in the 80's well they have been working on a movie for awhile. we its slated for release in 2007 now...
well a TF fan made up a CGI clip to show what could be done with the stuff thats out today..

well, even if you dont like the Transformers, got to admit its pretty darn cool.
and like so many other things that are being redone (superman being another one that jumps to mind) I hope they dont screw it up.

yeah i have seen some of the ILM test strips where they show the tech... looks really cool as long as its got a good story im so going to see it.

from what I have read its SUPOSED to stay fairly close to the 80's version, not the stuff they have put out in the last couple years.
but yeah I only hope they dont screw it up.

My boys were shocked when I told them I knew everything about the original Transformers. They didn't know that dad lived back then in the old days.

well, with that my hopes for this being true to the old TF characters just went out the window.
Bumble Bee is now a camaro not a VW bug
Prime is a fire truck not a simi
devistator is now a tank, not the combined form of the constructicons.
they have renamed the matrix to "the energon cube"
this sucks

Depends what audience the film makers are going for, if its the kids, then they wont care that its not true to the original, if its the older generation, then maybe they didnt care what 'we' thought
Hey, who knows, it still could be a good film, especially if those tech tests are real!

I really don't see how they could take something that was oncwe great and just throw it all out the window. I have two kids and understand that they are used to seeing a more anime style cartoon. In so, I understand the need to "update" the art. I don't think it was needed to keep names of old characters and screw them up. I think when they do a transformer movie they should either start fresh and not keep any of the names or robots form the original, or the should stick with the original and make it great. It's not like they don't already have stories they could use....
