GIMP tutorials for tweaking photos?

Post by Tim Burton »

I want to learn to use GIMP. I can't afford PS, and heard GIMP is darn good for the price.

Does anyone have tutorials for helping to learn how to take photos?

A simple search of "GIMP Tutorials" on Google revealed many websites containing step-by-step tutorials with images to show you how to execute a specific task in the GIMP.

Here are some :

http://www.gimpguru.org/Tutorials/

If you need some more, I would be happy to search some more, but what do you want to do with your photos exactly? :)

Thanks, I didn't realize they updated the tutorial as much as the last time I checked it out.

Am I stupid and missing the section on where to select plugins to use them in GIMP? Anyone help?

Even worse is that now looking more indepth, every single tutorial is out of date, like 1.5 out of date.

Sorry guy, but I don't use GIMP. :(
Maybe you could switch and try PAINT.net? It seems to be more user-friendly

There was this sentence in the help about plugins though

Several dozen plugins are included in the main GIMP distribution, and installed automatically along with GIMP. Most of them can be accessed through the Filters menu (in fact, everything in that menu is a plugin), but a number are located in other menus.
