jeez... lucky SOB. I got busted going "83" (actually going 77) in a 55 and didn't get a break at all. Mind you, this was at about midnight on an open road out in the country. The cop was the first car I saw in 5 miles. I was pissed too 'cause that was my first ticket, ever, for anything. I found out a few days later that it was that towns homecoming.

One of my friends got lucky too. He was going 110+ on the highway, young female cop pulls him over and gave him a WARNING! He then got busted again about 15 minutes down the road going 95. Younger male cop pulls him over, gives him a freaking warning too, but the cop escorted him home. Personally he was a dork for going that fast and didn't get the hint the first time! :P I gave him crap for it.

back in '98 I had a '93 T-Bird for 2 days, still had temp tags, I got busted doing a 110 on I-370 going to work. Cought a brake, the cop was on his way in for shift change, and didnt feel like doing the paperwork. He told me that he would only give me a warning but if I broke 55 anyware between where I was at and my work that he would do the paperwork and I would go to jail.

he followed me all the way to my works front door and watched me walk in.

Driving a GF's '68 GTO right after I turned 18 I was busted doing 123 mph on a straight-way road with access, which was to a park which the gate would be locked after 9pm.

I was let off, because the cop's first car was a GTO and he remembered doing dumb things like that.

I usually would check the road before we sped, but I was in a hurry and just thought I would get a kick out of it on the way home. Nothing like running a mile in 30 seconds. We used to race new cars that some of the church members had on that strip, but we always drove the thing first to make sure there was nothing on the road and such. Had I done that I would have seen the cop at the gate doing paper work. Oops.

I remember before I got off, scared as hell saying to her, "I'm going to jail, I'm going to jail, I'm going to jail...."

I've got plenty of high speed excitement under my belt, but i've only been pulled over at max of 87, that was before I even had my car. I was speeding in my mom's santa fe.

In my car I regularly do 90-100 on the freeway when it's open. On my way down to oregon in the spring I averaged probably 100+ mph with plenty of 120mph stretches that covered miles.

I did get lucky. Dude was off duty, didn't radar me and could not pace me.
I slowed down not because I saw him but because at 140, I could feel just how little control I had over the vahicle. I knew it would drop again at 150 but at 140 it was ready to get squirly on me.
As soon as I can afford it, I'll start building a road racing car so I can get all this out at the track.
Fun as drag racing is, I find it boring compaired to road racing.
Here are the two daze that got me absolutly hooked:

I got pulled over doing 165 in a 1985 Camaro Z28 but only got wrote up for 75 cause I acctualy pulled over.

I had just gotten the car 2 days earlier and still had not gotten plates put on it, was passing by hwy 79 on why 70 and he was sitting on the on ramp, clocked me doing 165, I seen him pull onto the road, by the time he caught up to me I was sitting onthe side of the road on Blanchette bridge sitting on my trunk lid waiting.

I still had pedel to go to, the Z28 was an ex-Illinois state trooper interceptor vehicle that I bought at a lot in Wentzville that used to belong to my insurrance agent.

a couple of points on my liscense and a pretty hefty fine.
Except for some slighting drifting around wet corners, I've been a good boy since.
