Kansas Motor Speedway

Post by KnightRid »

Well if any of you remember, I won a trip to this weekends race from BANQUET ( Conagra Foods )!!!!!

I will have TONS of pics, and I will try and figure out a way to display them online if anyone would be interested.

I will be staying in the bright red Banquet RV in the infield ;) with my wife, and brother and sister in law ( argh ).

I will be leaving Friday morning and coming back Monday afternoon/evening. As long as my plane doesnt crash in a fiery explosion that melts everyones skin to the grass beneath where we crashed

First airplane ride - I am nervous as hell.

Does anyone live around there? going to the race? anyone know if they have free wifi available? pay wifi? I will be taking the new laptop that has the wifi in it, but I dont know if they offer it or not.

Mike

Oh we are flying Southwest - any tips for a first time airplane traveller? other than to up the life insurance :p

u'll love it. best part of the air plane ride is when the air plane accelerates to get off the ground.

NHRA Races I assume?

I've never been a huge fan of funny cars, but I have to say they are amazing. My buddy saw them in person up in Kent, WA and was blown away.

Actually I was talking about NASCAR :)

Well the trip was a BLAST!!! airplane ride sucked ,and I will NEVER EVER get back on one again unless they knock me out, or give me something so I dont get sick!!!

got to ride around in a banquet pickup truck for the pre-race parade with the budweiser clydesdales leading the way!!!! then we got to go on the track and watch the concert ( heartland - some up and coming country group I was told - I HATE country..lol..but I was on the Kansas track dammit!! ), then we got to stay on the track for driver introductions!!!!!!! It was a blast. I think I took over 1500 pictures..LOL. I just kept holding the button down and letting it snap away ;) glad it is digital so I can get rid of a good 1000 of them for being crappy hahaha.

I missed the top 8 or 10 driver introductions because of heading up into the stands to our seats which sucked, but it was a free weekend ( till uncle sam dips his greedy ass fingers into it! ) so I cant complain.

Plane ride out there was great - plane ride back SUCKED ASS. guy was "waggling" the damn plane like he forgot how to fly or something. If they had open cockpits I ould have walked up and smacked him on the back of the ehead - the bastard. Then the layover at Indy I was feeling sooooooo sick, then had to turn around and get back on a plane from Indy to BWI. I was good at first, then we hit turbulence :( as you can imagine I tested those lovely air sick bags - 2 of them on the plane, then another on the drive home :( I hate motion sickness - normally the pills I take help, but this time they didnt do chit. So I think I will drive everywhere from now on!!! and if I cant drive there, I will never go there unless of course the cure me, or knock me out for the flight ;)

Well I will have pics, but I am still feeling crappy, so maybe tomorrow I will work on them and post a few.
