OK, I've gone around in circles this past week. My exahust fan motor died in the bathroom. The house is only four years old. So, one would figure that getting replacement parts is rather easy.
Need I say ... NOT.
It seems that my builder bought bundles of stock at discounted prices to finish the little stuff. Don't get me wrong, the little stuff seems of good quality.
The motor is no longer manufactured nor sold in retail parts supply.
I tried a few dozen places in the region to get the motor. Even on-line from NuTone.
The Home Depot sells a "generic" NuTone kit with different motor and a cheesy fan for only $12. However, I'll need the dremel and other modding tools to retro fit everything.
Here's the deal, the fan pushes 110CFM. I wonder if purchasing TWO of these babys, I could duct air out of my computer case while steaming up the shower.
Oh what fun I have ahead of me.
