OPEC said it cannot cool the market; cartel president says there's no additional supply.
SINGAPORE (Reuters) - U.S. oil prices hit new record levels above $44 a barrel Tuesday as the head of OPEC said there was little the group could do to cool the red-hot market for the time being.

At 8:28 a.m. ET, U.S. light crude for September delivery rose 21 cents at $44.03 a barrel in electronic trading after reaching a high of $44.24 a barrel, the highest level since crude futures were launched on the New York Mercantile Exchange in 1983.
Well, I think it is safe to assume that gas prices may go back up a bit if prices stay at these levels... :( Oh well, the full read is here.

Get on the waiting list, by the time one is available you should have saved the $20k.
My Parents got one in 02, after a 9 month wait (they ordered a '01 but toyota subsituted an 02 at the same price because they ran out of '01's, ford, Gm and toyota are all about to release hybrid SUV's which get around 35MPG

Oil prices set another record high today, then retreated after a U.S. government report showed a larger-than-expected gasoline inventory. The price of U.S. crude hit $44.34 a barrel this morning, 19 cents above Tuesday's price. Analysts fear another few days of record-breaking prices could damage the global economy.

And now most anlysts are saying it could hit $50, unless the world calms down, this is mostly about fear of shortages, not current shortages.

Out here in the back woods gas is still $1.75 in De Soto and $1.73 in Potosi........... I expect it to go up anytime now.

infinitevalence,

Can't really upgrade to anyother type of vehical. I work in the construction feild (decks, sheds, roofing and such) The only thing I could do is get a newer one, but mine still runs great.............and a new one would mean a truck payment and they cost WAY to much..........
