Still, you have to admit that the taunting certainly helped matters. It would have been too humane for them not to taunt him, though a more brutal and lengthy torture might have been preferable.

yeah maybe chase him around with a dull axe or get someone to , but keep him alive for about a month of torture till he begs to be killed. im so violent

I think there's at least one reason why Saddam might not be a "martyr to the cause".

When he was captured, he didn't try to shoot it out, or take some soldiers down with him. I think that, in itself, shows how cowardly he was.

I thought they were supposed to die while killing infidels.

After i watched the video, i thought to myself, why did i just watch that. it didnt change anything to me. i didnt feel anybetter seeing him hang verse reading he was dead in a new thing. i dunno, i just felt weird after it.

He went out with style! He refused the hood, he didn't reply to the taunts, just had his say and was gone! For that he will be remembered.............and not in a good way! Leaving out the fundamentalists, Iraq is torn between those who follwed him and those who hated him. The problem is that there's proly an even amount of each...........that means 1/2 the people will never be truly happy with their "government". This is what will make him a Martyr.
You don't have to die for a cause to be a martyr......you just have to have followers who believe you did!

My hope was it would be clean and controversy free (what was I thinking! ) Just to be over with.

yea when i was in florida recently i saw on the news that they were gonna hang him for something i didnt have much time to watch the whole thing

Well, originally they were going to hang him for all the weapons of mass destruction he was stock piling. But when they couldn't find any, they had to come up with a new reason to hang him.

if they were to hang everyone responsible for senseless killing in Iraq, I wonder where all the places they could look.
