Give me some suggestions on what to make the 5 levels of forum membership and the requirements of each level.

In case people didn't notice, I voted to have the post limits a lot higher than some other suggestions... just because this forum is going to be around for a while... so we should plan it that way... that's why I don't have anyone becoming a "Legit Ol' Tymer" until 5000 posts!

Yea we noticed
At Apop's rate, it will take the most active/spamming member over 5 years to reach 5000.

All depends on how many computers you've worked on... The only computers I could not fix with a re-format were Gateways.

I'd have to agree...I've never seen anyone who hasn't had trouble with Gateway, but I've seen people who were happy with Dell. . . .and I've seen both ways with E Machines.

i got an old gateway laptop that works well for me. i want a new one but thats just because its slow and the paint it chipping.

you guys forgot to mention HP/compaq. but that's OT.
i think that having it in realistic stages like:
Level 1 quote: Newbie Post Count: 0-50
Level 2 quote: Consumer Count: 51-200
Level 3 quote: Enthusiast Post Count: 201-450
Level 4 quote: Specialist Count: 451-999
Level 5 quote: Guru Post Count: >999
and once a lot of people start becoming specialists and gurus, you can bump the numbers up to make only the top 4-5% of posters be gurus. once people get to crazy levels like 10k posts, you can make a special one for them. it's so easy to change the forum levels in phpbb2, so why not change it up once in a while. i think setting a high level initially will cause a lot of less intelligent members to post whore by replying with "ok" or
or some generic compliment a lot to get their count up. this way they don't look like trolls even though they are and therefore should be thrown into the shark pit.
