advice

I have the chance to be a hardware reviewer for another site. I don't want to say which, but it's one I like. Do any of the reviewers here have guidelines they go by for reviewing? If so, can you list them out for me. I'd thank you forever and ever.

Depends on the hardware. Basically be honest. Look at other reviews for similar products. Always have someone proof read your work. If its hardware that depends on other parts, like a GPU can depend on a CPU make sure you list that. Don't skew the results in anyway, give the down and dirty numbers. And have fun

Except for a poetry translation class, I have made 4.0 in my english classes. However, I'm more nervous about what tack to take when reviewing; things to look for, etc.

I cant either, my only review here was proof read by a good friend of mine. She asked me repeatedly if english was my first language

just to let you know, i was too was offered a chance to review for another site, a big big site, and i turned it down.

Main reason: (you may think its cheesy), but i am all for LR, i felt it i would be a trader
Second main reason: Dont have time!!! Work and school and an LR review here and there. LOL

Hey all i can say is, if you do go there, gain the skill and come back here. LOL

I know I haven't been round here long enough to earn much respect, but I will tell you what I do like when I'm looking at reviews are pictures or illustrations then a caption summing them up.

What I don't like is the "techo" mumbo-jumbo in the middle of most of the articles. Most readers, like myself, are of moderate/high component knowledge and know what to look for when choosing peripherals. We aren't looking to know that you may have hooked up your multi-meter to the thing-a-ma-bob, which caused a drop in the reading of the what-u-ma-call-it and that you spun around three times & said grace before each test to eventually achieve the end result. With that being said, there are going to be people that will want to know how you achieved said results. Personal preference says, place them at the end of the review while pointing out during the review to check the end of the article for specifics. I have been lost reading many a review that I went elsewhere to find what I was looking for and heaven forbid relying on some dork's comments on the newegg product page(no offense to the dorks).

I'm also guessing that most of the people that come across your reviews are going to be looking specifically for your review to find out if they should choose model A or B especially on a high-end product.

I'm sorry to be long winded, but I just wanted to voice my opinion on some of the reviews I've read that have bugged me.
