ARH SDD #4 Bell Military Helicopter Crash

I'm not sure if you heard, but yesterday a prototype Bell military helicopter known as the ARH SDD #4 crashed yesterday at a Golf Course down in Texas...

What the Army is saying Internally:
SDD #4 is on its side at a local golf course. Apparent crash about 2:45
this afternoon. Today was its first flight. Both pilots are ok.
There's a picture on the Web. I'll let you know as more information becomes available

ARH = Armed Recon Helicopter

SDD = System Development and Demonstration

I go right by the Bell plant on my way to hockey games, they are almost always flying something lol.

These are going to replace the Kiowa since the Commanche was canceled in favor of more numerous, cheaper aircraft. Well looks like you get what you pay for! :roll:

lol i can throw a rock at the bell helicopter plant from my apt. Dang and i never heard anything on my scanner!!!!
edit://ok nm it came from there arlington base one, not the hurst one.
