I got that one at work when I started to redo the site. They thought I could just cut and paste some stuff from our brochures and that was all.

I ran into an issue on a website I was "co-developing". The client had a friend that worked on websites and wanted the friend to do it. Although the friend knew nothing about domain registration, or setting up a domain, email, etc... so the client asked that I helped the friend through those "little things".

I had one meeting with the client and the friend, explained everything, showed them a version of the site I had done on my own (in case they wanted to phase out the friend). The client liked the site, but still wanted friend to make it "look nicer". The meeting was on a Tues or Wed and I happened to check in on the site on Friday night. Friend had gone back and edited most everything I had done, had left out tags so code was visible EVERYWHERE (with friends username/password to the server), had inserted HORRIBLE colors and homemade logos. I called the client, about 11:15 on a friday night, told them what friend had done and they asked me to fix the code and make it secure, which I did.

Cliff's: some people shouldn't design web sites. ;)
