<Sigh> Robert Heinlein where are you when we need you.

Why is it our society must save us from ourselves? I'd move to IL but then I'd have to give up my right to carry. This is not the nation Thomas Jefferson invisioned.

Why not just ban the WATER (the other common ingredient) No water + 15 days = no more drug problems (population will be quite a bit smaller to non existant  But drug free for sure)

meth labs are huge here in missouri... Last I knew we were the number one makers of meth for the entire country... In Adair County where I attended college people used to drive around and make it... I saw them switching batches at a Walmart once... LOL

Meth (or in this case crack) is a huge problem everywhere.
You can almost blow it off as a user problem, EXCEPT both drugs are extremely addictive (changing the way the synapes/brain functions) and the side effect that once the burn through their own money, house, car, etc. users will do ANYTHING to get money to get more, no crime to small or to heinous.
treatment at best is temporary, one day at a time, and it's easy and cheap to fall off the wagon again.
The organized crime side of it is scary, almost any gang can make a batch with variety of commonly available household products (hey, if you screwup a kill a few users, big deal, another one will be along in a minute)
These piecemeal laws to restrict ONE item at a time, just makes a new blackmarket (baking soda sumggler! :? explain that in prison :ANAL: )
alot of money, not too difficult, not too risky sounds like the perfect job if you don't mind killing people one puff at a time.

Neat, I knew baking soda was versatile in the kitchen, but I didn't know it could make drugs! I'm getting some ideas here... 8)

I don't know 'bout Missouri, but in AZ (lived there for 13 years) they have some ungodly statistics about meth production. But baking soda? How'm I gonna make Irish soda bread if can't buy baking soda? I know it's used for crack production but seriously - if everyone banned everything that could potentially be used for drug production we'd end up (not only with no water) but no aspirin, no sleep aids, no allergy medicine, no cold medicine, no yeast, no mothballs, no banananas, no nutmeg... and so on to "no nothing."

I'm quite sure that Crystal Meth is Not manufactured in the United States, None at all. It is, in fact, smuggled over the (Southern) border on the backs and in the body cavities of dark skinned people. Indeed the entire Meth problem could be ended if we could only control the nation's borders. I know this because I saw it on Lou Dobbs' show.

Couple years back there was a raid on a house suspected of gun running. Was a legit bust, when they finally got the right house.

First house was the neighbors, busted in tore the place to hell then realized they needed to be next door.
