Death tolls up to 25. Not releasing the fate of the shooter other than he's dead. I hope one of his intended victims was carrying and did him in.

I'm just going to throw this out there, but if you didn't have the right to carry, would the gunman still have had a gun? (I know we can't know now, and indeed may never know but its something to ponder)

one thing they can't do is judge 100% whether or not someone is really going to use a gun for good or for evil but i CAN say i've known many MANY people throughout my life who carry, legally, and are both skilled and humble about it.

this was some retard, some POS excuse for a human being who decided it was going to be duck-hunt day at VTech.

and yes even if we DIDNT have the right to carry, he'd still have found a way to kill.

On another note, who's betting the media tries to pin this on video games?

you never know, that ship seemed to have sailed after the infamous Bowling For Columbine film.

honestly, Dan, i'm not sure. it seems to me that the same people who would say that video games make kids violent enough to kill would also rather someone who did what this shooter did NOT get the death penalty. just a thought.

anyone else sorta wondering the same thing(s)?

You're probably right!

Blaming video games for people doing this is sort of like blaming playing cops and robbers or cowboys and indians for the same attrocities. In a video game your pointing and clicking. Playing pretend you're acting it out.

The points moot. We have freadom of speech.

As for whether he had a carry permit... I don't think that's got anything to do with it as likely he was using an assualt rifle from what few descriptions I've heard. What I'd like to know is why he was able to run around on campus for 2 hours after the first batch of shootings.

Carrying a firearm is a tremendous responsibility. I know from first hand experience as both a range master and a CCW holder in the State of Missouri. I also helped lobby to get the CCW bill passed in Missouri. Statistically speaking there's been no increase in violent crime in Missouri since the passing of the bill. And 42 states have provisions for carrying as of the writing of this post.

Can't answer that question, but will ask one of my own, if the school wasn't a "gun free zone" (read people were able to carry for self-protection) would there be as many dead?

CBS TV must be over stating or miss stating the numbers!

Is it me or is the media loving this???? I mean every channel you flip to has had live coverage of this since 11am CST today then they interview somebody over the phone that is a second cousin of a guy that knows somebody that goes to school there. -Not to bring light to this at all-

You know, this keeps happening, over and over, girl breaks up guy, guy gets guns, shoots girl and dozens of others.
I'm not sure that the video game/violent tv/movies AREN'T part of the problem.
Not the cause, but seeing violent acts repeatedly, and seeing across society that whipping out your nine or ak47 is not only acceptable, but an almost required way of dealing with your pain and anger.
years ago, after a breakup this guy might have got drunk, maybe got in a fight, dropped out of school or killed himself (at worse killed himself, the girl and maybe the new lover( if any, maybe she left cause the guy was wierd/unstable/a jerk or just not mr right)
Now, he felt the need not just to go after her, but everyone else, just to show how tough / angry/hurt he was.

A sad day for everyone
