Bomb Threats....

This is kind of a rant, so post along if you so well please.

There have been a series of bomb threats at schools in my community since very late April. The total as of today is TEN freaking threats. T E N !!! They don't seem to stop either. The cops arrested two kids so far and put a no-tolerance policy in place that if a kid is caught, they can search their home and belongings, no questions asked.

It seems like some bunch of kids think it's funny since the first one that was discovered. It was a series of threats at one school, then one day it happened at two other schools, etc. Seriously, what's so funny? Stupid brats; stupid parents for neglecting their children.

My big rant is, WHY THE F*** DO THESE KIDS PERSIST!? I mean, WTF is threatening to blow up your school going to do aside from wasting tax payers money. Seriously, every time one is found, they have to interrupt classes, bring police, dogs, etc. out to check the building(s).

Oh yea, these kids are all middle schoolers...

My mom works for the school district and said numerous schools don't allow "potty" breaks for the students. It's either the entire class goes or no one goes.

WTF is wrong with kids today, seriously? The kids who are just trying to get out of school by doing this crap, should be given an extra year of schooling at minimum (punishment)!

What happened to the good ol' days of when you wanted to get out of class for awhile you just pulled the firealarm...nothing harmfull, nothing that would threaten the lives of everyone in school. When this happened everyone knew it was a prank, now a days there doing bomb threats? In light of the way the world is right now and calling in a bomb threat is a serious matter, you can not tell if it is just someone playing a prank or if terroriest are behind it and holding the school ransom or something, it goes along the same lines of when we where kids (I am 35 yrs old btw) we did not really do harmfull things, we also got out of the middle of the road when a car was coming cause we knew we would get hit for being stupid ass's, the kids today stand there and look at you like your the retarded one. One day I was driving down the street in my neighborhood (25mph speed limit) and was doing 20, 10 kids stood in the middle of the road and would not move, I had to come to a stop, I stuck my head out the window and asked them to move...they just stood there and flipped me off, I reved my engine alittle and some of them moved but there was like 3-4 still standing in the middle of the road, I then honked my horn...at that one of the kids mother came out of the house and started bitching at me cause I honked my horn at her kids that where standing in the middle of the road.

Kids today dont have the disapline that we had as kids, we got afraid when we got into trouble cause we got beat with belts, we did not talk back to our parents cause we got beat with belts and shoes, today...way out of control cause of stupid DFS crap...I can understand some of it cause sometimes parents did get out of control and a simple punishment beating lead to hospitalization, but come one.....kids think life is a joke, and wonder why they get thrown in jail for the crap they do. The kids are no longer afraid, we as the parents are the ones that are afraid to disipline our kids cause we might be the ones in trouble and not the kids.

I would lay odds that 75%+ of the people that set down these laws don't have kids at all.

I would bet that the kids who called in the bomb threat are doing it as jokes to impress their friends, and to get out of classes.

As for kids not obeying, I was driving down a rural road, and 3 amish boys (12-16isn) just walked down the middle of the road. They didnt move when I was coming, and I had to drive around... Im betting they get plenty of punishment when they do wrong, but sometimes it is just the kid's disposition. If a kid doesnt respond to the disapline, he wont learn.

so, just hit the kids next time, or drive by them with a big stick and whack them in the head at 25 mph

Well, the police arrested two more kids today for 5 of the bomb threats. Get this, they were GIRLS. I would more expect this kind of foolishness to come from boys. All four of the people who have been arrested so far were 11-13 year old GIRLS.

But so far there have only been 10 threats and nothing more yet. The cops arrested one girl in front of a bunch of other students, they cuffed the bitch! :)

But yea, I was disciplined as a kid, so I'm one of those afraid types to get in trouble. I did my fair share of stupid things when I was young, but I grew out of that quickly. I've got plenty of friends who yeah, I'm good friends with, but I am glad I'm not in their shoes.

I've never had anything disrupted because of a bomb threat... my schools have had a few prank fire alarms, but when they started handing out $500 fines, people didn't do that much anymore.

Xanlamin: Respect has to go both ways with pedestrians/vehicles. I get really peeved when people dart into the middle of the road when I'm driving, however, I get equally annoyed (and for scared for my safety) when drivers don't pay attention to crosswalks. I've had drivers skid to a stop a number of times because they didn't slow down coming up to crosswalk, and had expected me to wait for them to drive by before crossing.

When I'm not at a crosswalk, I'll cross whenever I can do so without interrupting traffic at all, but if there is a crosswalk, pedestrians get right of way.

Things like this are what make me believe in spanking kids. Whenever I did something that (I knew) was wrong, I would be spanked, and I would never do it again. And no I'm not all emotionally messed up and a crybaby that plans on beating the bejesus out of their kids now that punishment has happened to me. I still have a creeping feeling that if I do anything extremely stupid, my dad will lay the smack down, so I don't! Put the fear of harm into them is what I say!! If you threaten to blow up the school little miss butthead, then I will blow up your doll collection. Problem solved.

Yeah, I have to agree that you have to physically discipline a child else they will just walk all over you. Half of the problems we see in kids today reflect how they were brought up, and then parents refuse to take responsibility. I don't know firsthand, but I appreciate how hard it is to raise kids, that's why a solid sense of right and wrong (backed up with smacking) needs to be instilled from a very young age.

When I was in HS, if we were going to be late to a test or what not, we'd call in a bomb threat.

In fact I knew kids who called one in from the school pay phone to the office 10 feet away.

Ah, how much fun the phone was pre-caller ID.
