Look up Portal time trials on youtube, you will get some ideas for beating the trials.
Anyway, I completely agree that this is one of the best games out there. It may be short, but there is not a single part in the game that you just don't enjoy getting through. I have played too many games that I don't want to play a second time because of a few sections that aren't fun.

The game is a wonder, definitely. I remember when I got the Orange Box, I thought this was one of those extras thrown in. Let's just say, right now, I'd buy the Orange Box for it and all the rest are extras. Not really, they're all superb games, but Portal is brilliant. The credit song is incredible - I freaking loved it.
An awesome game. It could be longer though...
Sometimes it made me feel sooo stupid as I often found myself pondering on a problem that seemed impossible until you did realise:
"Wait a minute, I can actually do this. I do have a freaking portal gun for crying out loud!"
Yeah, I had this same problem in a couple areas near the end where you had just a really small hole to shoot the portal. I just didn't realize where to shoot the damn thing.
I am glad that there were no other weapons to hassle with, or enemies to kill.

Oh not me, I'd like to see a game with portals and rifles and such...find a little out of the way hole in the ground and setup a trap for people walking around the corner...would be crazy fun multiplayer but still awesome for just halflife or something.
yea it's more of a thrill ride than a game
when i was at my friends house we were taking turns playing it hooked up to his 52" screen, and it made me very nautious

Don't get me wrong, I do think it would be fun to have a portal gun in an FPS (we better be getting it in HL2 Episode 3), but I had fun playing portal as a puzzle game instead of a FPS.

One of the best and most innovative games in a very long time. I just introduced a few friends to it the other day and they're addicted lol. The advanced maps/trials are really fun though the footsteps is just plain annoying heh....
I finished it too fast. It's so addicting that you get through it pretty quick. I played it a second time.
It would be cool as a FPS if the the only gun used was the portal gun to take out the baddies. I could see more mobile and animated bots in the next one for sure.

one of my favorite things to do is put a portal above a turret then run and shoot another portal right under a different turret so they both go "ahhhhhh" and it looks like a retarded battlebots as they take each other out

PORTAL: First Slice Demo
Help yourself to a generous, 11-level serving of Portal: First Slice, the official demo for the game that challenges you to think with portals. The winner of numerous Game of the Year awards introduces you to the test chambers at the Aperture Science Enrichment Center, where you'll learn to solve physical puzzles by opening portals to maneuver objects, and yourself, through space.
It says the game released on May 8th but I haven't seen it. It can probably be purchased from Steam directly but the demo gives ya 11 levels to check out.
