Unreal Tournament 3

Post by dgood »

Unreal Tournament 3. I'm going to go buy it today. I hope it's as good as I think it will be. I have loved all the past ones, so I have no qualms buying it. Anybody else got it, or buying it?

I played the demo, it rocks, the graphics are amazing and it runs smooth with everything on high @ 1440x900 on my 1.8ghz Merom, w/ 2gb of DDR2 667 and an 8700m.

I heard somewhere that the textures for the retail version are double the resolution of the demo but have yet to find out for myself.

I heard the textures thing too but, the game looked good and the textures will just be a plus for strong video cards. If not then as we all saw it ran good on mid level systems

I was going to pick it up, but I ended up buying Call of Duty 4 since most of my gaming group is playing it. Been a long time since everyone agreed on one game, and this COD4 has been that game.

I'll probably get UT3 with this weekend, have a client to see on Friday, and another on Saturday, so I'll have a few bucks there.

now you know how I feel! I bought world in conflict, company of heroes OP, Oblivion, Bioshock, The orange box, and now crysis.

I have finished the orange box, crysis and bioshock so far, and I have barely played the other 3, including RE4 that I bought for PC about 6 months ago. I just don't have the time to play!

OK so I bought it at a local store for 50 dollars two days ago. The servers all have really high ping I've noticed. So Plying it online isn't much of an option as all servers with people on them are 120+ ping. So Cod4/CS are better for me server wise. That is fine since I usually play UT over lan with my friends and not online so much. And the Campaign. I feel the campaign in UT3 deviated from the others in the fact that it tries to mask the same thing from the others with a very shitty goal oriented briefing for each round. When really you are just playing UT as usual. It does look incredible and I noticed actually it ran smoother at 1650x1080 than it did on 1024x768. Can't wait to lan this.

It is on my wish list for Christmas... but I have a GameStop gift card that has UT3 written all over it if I don't get it for Christmas! :)

Sounds like some LR online action will be in order once more UT3 servers are available with lower pings! :)
