Id Tech 5

Serious Engine 3

I think when its all said and done John Carmack will be remembered as the father of modern PC Gaming.

As usual the shaders look amazing on Croteams engine I especially like the pic of the stained glass windows and water:

John Carmack is for sure going to be remembered as starting it all... 20GB of environmental textures... DAMN

He's going to show off more at Quakecon and he's also going to be making a MAC announcement at Quakecon... Interesting!

I heard from a reliable source that John Carmacks Qcon announcement regarding Macs is very simply this:

Macs are gay.

:)

Absolutely SICK! That's all I have to say!

One of my friends mentioned that the Unreal engine is just that, unreal. Your current Unreal Tournament game is only pushing a fraction of what the engine can do. To utilize the whole thing, you'd need one fast ass computer.

This guy was about to get a job with a few of these game companies, but turned them down due to not wanting to move to CA or where ever, and the fact that the guys sit around and drink imported beer all day long! :P

I'm still skeptical about the new Id engine. I know that Carmack is usually an honest guy, but I'm taking a wait and see approach. There may very well be some sort of development problems with this new way of storing textures.

I really hope SS3 is better than the 2nd one. I found it to have tedious and uninteresting gameplay. It looked great but that was all it had.
