i have followed every step given by "kappage" in his halo 2 on xp installation post
(i used loader.exe _vol 0.2 and halo2xp_v0.3 both have same prob)
but during installation i got an error message as shown

then i close it. and i search for my halo2 game directory in my program files but it was not created yet
after that i run intallation again, and i dont get any error message,
but
my installer got stuck here..



i wait for abt 1hr for installation
but it remains stucked.
and end its process from task manager
then again i search for halo2 directory in my program files now it is created
it contains following data

total size of my halo directory was = 4.24 GB

i treid to play halo but when game start
at halo logo whent ligth travels to the letter "L" of HALO
game crashes to desktop


i hav xp pro sp2
INTEL 2.8 GHZ proccessor
RAM 1768 MB DDR
Graphic card ASUS Nvidia Geforce 6800

If I'm not mistaken, Halo2 is only meant for Windows Vista

This worked fine on my computer. Too bad the game sucked. I would've taken the game back but my nephew opened the packaging before I had the chance.

Thanks for your post but i use this only (http://halo2xp.tk/) for installation
but game installer always got stuck as shown in second screen shot...

Shitty port that took forever. They didn't even change the Press A / B / Y / X colored buttons. Halo 1 was much better.

Sorry I don't know then. I used that "hack" to install and play the game.

It took forever because they probably signed some deal with MS to make it a Vista exclusive title. But I agree the game was terrible. I don't get the fascination with Halo.

Halo 2 out for the PC yay! Oh wait... they're releasing Halo 3 in a month. Go Microsoft.

Halo for PC was a joke. They completely screwed the game up when they removed coop on the port to PC. I didn't even waste my time with the Halo2 "hack".

i have installed windows LIVE...even tried it with updated 1.1v...but same error....


LIVE gaming on windows failed to initialize...maybe another application using LIVE gaming [but nothing is running!!!]...plz reinstall to fix this...[tried it hell lot of times!!!]...
