With Microsoft releasing Halo 3 this past Tuesday (or Monday night if you prefer), and with over over 1 million pre-orders, and Microsoft announcing that it was a big success, what do you guys think, was it a success? And if you guys have played it, what are your impressions?

I don't have a 360 and I want to play it

Its going to be hard to try and keep plot spoiler free till I can either justify getting a 360 or even worse they release it on PC.

My son (17yrs) has been playing it and he says he loves it. He says, "so far it lives up to all the hype" and its the best xbox360 game to date. Must be pretty decent.

I haven't tried it yes cuz FPS aren't really my thing, but I just might give it a shot tonight and let you know my thoughts.

I'll have to wait and see if or when it makes it into the PC world, there's no gaming boxes allowed in my house.............;)

the lighting system in halo 3 is just awesome, the AI rocks, and the graphic are just beautiful, just bought an xbox 360 because of it

I am a die Hard halo fan i thought they could have put more into the game but i still loved it.

I don't have a 360 ATM, but I am sure tempted to fall into the Halo 3 hype machine... but I think that I can avoid it. I've played better FPS on my PC, but as far as console FPS go, the Halo games will do just fine ;)

I've been playing it quite a bit. Still haven't even started the single player portion though. For me, Halo is all about the multiplayer.

I have some issues with the setup of the multiplayer, just minor things like connection times, but on the whole it's excellent.

anyone watch the zero punctuation review on halo 3? I thought it was hilarious.

All of zero punctuation's reveiws are awesome, they have me cracking up laughing every episode, that is quite a feat to be consitantly funny.

How did you hear about the vid reviews dgood? And how long ago?

I've know many people who have plunked down their hard earned cash to purchase a video game console and/or computer system for a single game. Actually, I pretty much bought my Wii for Zelda, and it was worth it. ;)

only heard about them a couple weeks ago, but it's my new favorite way to have a video game reviewed I think. Back to the normally scheduled halo 3 thread.

I have a feeling you would buy less games that way...for the bioshock one he spent 20 seconds on the god, and 5 minutes on the bad

If you watch his previous vids, you will see that he does one he really liked, but in the next one, he mentions that people had written in saying they liked his negative reviews better.

They shouldn't be used as the only way to form an opinion of a game
