I tried it for about a month and I couldn't get into it. I wasn't a fan of the training system. I prefer a game that rewards you for what you do, not how long you have had your account. I might have been able to get over that if it was more of a flight sim like star wars galaxies was. Currently I am back playing city of heroes. If anyone wants to try it I can send them a buddy code for a free trial just pm me.

I played Eve for about 2 months. I cancelled my account to play some more City of Villains with some friends. Now I'm playing nothing... but thinking very hard about another month of Eve. I will let ya know if I get on anytime soon.

I can fly minmatar battle cruisers but can't afford a hurricane :( Hopefully you have progressed enough to that point that Hurricanes are cheap to you

And Yeah I really wish it was like Star Wars Galaxies controls. That game was awesome (pre-cu of course).

It's been a good while since I've played EVE. I used to run a minnie combat/prober pilot, as well as a hulk character on a separate account. Right now my friends/coworkers and I are obsessing over the now free DDO, but whenever I get bored with whatever MMO I'm currently playing, I invariably end up back in EVE.

I'm playing, mainly cos I enjoy the challenge of earning enough isks not to pay real money for it. :)

So I got back on Eve today. A friend of mine who I fly with a lot told me about something he did while I was gone. It is amazing. He had a "spy" in the mining corp recording the vent convo as well. This video is truly amazing for anyone who actually knows whats going on. The arabic or whatever is to go along with being a "suicide bomber".

Come on... I'm online everyday and you people who said you play haven't responded. I've had alot of fights in the last few days and extra ships wouldn't have hurt :P

Eve Online looks like a really boring game to me, but the stories fascinate me.

After giving the game a 14 day trial I have a few things to say:
- I like games that I don't have to spend extraordinary amounts of time playing just to "get to the good parts"
- I loved the graphical quality of the game
- If I were willing to spend more time on a game, I'd be all over Eve, as I've got a lot of friends who play it

I might have a change of heart some day, but I don't think it would be in the foreseeable future.
Have fun in zero-zero!

Looked boring to me as well at first, and was boring at first. You really need someone to assist ya for the first part of the learning curve.

When I gave it a try I was also not looking forward to having to wait a while to "get to the good parts".... then I met this guy who helped give me a jumpstart into the game. I was killing people with only 2 days of skill training under my belt. How long you've been playing only changes what role you'll be playing in your gang/fleet. Also, sometimes I just either don't have time to play or have friends wanting me to play FPS games with them.... Well with Eve you don't HAVE to sign in to be training. It's a cool little feature. Don't have to been wasting the hours away just to keep your character building up.

But ah well, It does have its bad sides. Just lemme know if you ever decide to give Eve another try.
