Apparently the DX10.1 version is crashing, which isn't anything new in the world of PC games, but it is leaving behind 800-1000MB error logs!!!
A patch for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed that addresses the majority of issues reported by fans will be released in the near future.

In addition to addressing reported glitches, the patch will remove support for DX10.1 in order to rework its implementation.

We don’t have an exact date for the release of this patch but we’re hard at work and hope to have further updates soon.

damn... huge blow to ATI and to gamers in general...

The question is was it broke or did NVIDIA make sure it was broke by sponsoring the game with the way it's meant to be played program funding.

I had a program do that to me last year, I couldn't figure out why I only had 100MB left on my hard drive, last I had checked showed about 40 gigs freespace.

I tracked it down, and had a whole bunch of files about a gig apiece. I reformatted and all was well.
