I was going to pick this up for $18. What do you guys think of the game?

Worth it IMO. I think there is another thread about it here.

I personally think that FarCry 2 was a huge let down, Not worth the money.

The first time I installed it, just didn't like the way it played. (Not a good description, but I don't know really how to put it.)

I reinstalled it over this past weekend on the new build and started over.
Still didn't like it much ... kind of boring.
After I got further into the game, started getting better weapons and different vehicles, it got more interesting.

Last night I got into the multiplayer online for a while.
It's gettin' better .... think it might even grow on me after a while.

I'd say it's worth the $18.00 you mentioned.
It's worth that much just to see the graphics in this game.
They're at least as good as Crysis ... and run a hell of a lot better.

i know exactly how you feel. i just dont like the way the game plays. im used to super tight controls like cod4 and HL2

Anyone else played all the way through yet?

I am more than half of the way through, but I got Fallout 3, and recently Left 4 Dead (which I can only play single player right now).

I will eventually go back and finish it.

I loved using the flare gun to light the brush on fire to kill enemies.

I liked it, but mostly for the weapons and upgrades. The plot suffers, and makes it hard to complete the main storyline. I thought it was a lot more fun than Crysis though.
