Capcom's Dark Void PC Game - PhysX

Post by Apoptosis »

Just talked to Capcom and found out that the Jetpack that will be used in Dark Void will have the same PhysX 'smoke' that can be seen 3D Fluid and Particle Simulation and Rendering video that NVIDIA showed off at GDC 2009 -

More on the game, including screen shots, can be seen here - http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/darkvoid/index.html

That is pretty cool, though it didn't look like the smoke moved all too realistically.

As long as game companies continue to be console centric I doubt we will see too many games that really take advantage of physx like this. If a ps3 or xbox 360 can't do it then we probably wont see it implemented in 90% of games. Its unfortunate but the majority of the money isn't in PC game sales, it's in console sales.

Kudos to Capcom for giving us PC gamers something special! :)
