CoH: ToV Graphics Settings! HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Post by deleted »

Well, for a while now I've been playing the game at 1440x900 at lowest settings and it still looks "GOOD" but not "PRETTY". I want the game to have eye-candy and still run fine. The problem is when I set my options to higher settings, my pc has the attendency to stutter which leads to a crash. After the freeze, I'm forced to do a hard restart on my PC by pressing my reset button. I HATE it when my PC crashes, especially when I'm gaming. I have DX9 and a 9600 GSO and am wondering if there'd be any particular settings to use without messing up my PC and getting crashes. I would like to find that certain level of eye-candy and performance, and if anyone could give me some tips, ideas, etc.

All help appreciated!!!

Honestly, the best thing I can think of is to try each setting out...High quality may look great, but medium might look almost as good, but run better..that goes for any graphical setting that is able to be changed. In games like GTA 4 that change draw distance and such..turn the distance down to your preferred level and set the quality from there until you meet the performance you can hang with. Even tinkering with the resolution along with the settings will help. it's really trial and error.(not to mention restarting the game alot sometimes lol) I haven't seen a better way really...
