Game Mods

I just thought it would be interesting to open up a topic on game mods. Obviously some of the most popular/successful mods were the Zombie mods, especially on CoD5/WaW. Of course, the widest mod platform is Battlefield 2, with many different mods, ranging from just getting that stupid load cursor to spin properly, to full sandbox integration. Of course the biggest peeve in the modding community at the moment is the inability to legally mod Modern Warfare 2 and the lack of dedicated servers on this game. I would love to hear from everyone on their favourite mods, mod platforms, modders, and other mod-supporting software (FRAPs, BFEditor, Mod Stable etc.) Currently the best site around for modders and mod-users is ModDB, with a vast range of mods for most games, but mostly for the Battlefield and Counter-Strike series. I have to say that the only games I have played mods extensively on are Age of Empires 2, Battlefield 2 and CoD4 (and a few CSS mods). Does anyone else know of a game that has a wide mod database or a large modding community?

TF2 has quite a few, from TFTRUE which spawns you at random places close to a middle point and you health always increases at 2hp/s and fills when you kill someone, to ammomod where you have a predetermined health (like 1500hp) and you never have to reload, to hide and seek mods, to freeze tag, oh and pyro dodgeball(with rockets) lol

And in the beginning TF2 is basically a HL2/CSS mod.

Well, TF2 is made by Valve and is built on the Source engine. I don't know about TF1, but I am still, officially correct as I didn't say TF started out as a HL/CSS mod.
