no offense, butthis is kinda old. i got my new cord about 4 months ago.

Dont just order it, you need to make sure you xbox cord is one of teh defective ones. I found out when calling xbox support about an xboxlive problem. They can help you out. I had mine new cord 3 days later.

Oh, yeah, I guess you're right. I just saw 2005 and decided to post it.
But either way, if I hadn't heard of it, I'm sure there may be at least one other person out there that hasn't heard of it as well.

I heard about this a loooong time ago too. Never bothered with it as I don't play any of my consoles anymore. I actually just saw that Microsoft sent us a replacement either yesterday or today without me ordering it. Pretty neat.

Funny thing inside the box. There is a letter explaining why they're sending it out. Well, they say, "If you no longer own your XBox or blah blah blah, please discard this cord." lol? :roll:

the thing is, the cord is for those people that never turn the xbox off. Those are the cords that have a risk of fire.

So the true remedy is, TURN YOUR XBOX OFF. it has a hard drive, so it can save your current game.

Cripes, 14 million x the cost of an adapter & shipping.

Well, probably still cheaper than having to payout on all those potential lawsuits.

Still... I thought people would be smart enough to turn off hot running electronics or appliances when not in use.

"I'm gonna leave my toaster oven on so that I can cook my pop tarts faster when I get up in the morning! durrrrrrr!"
