F.E.A.R. The game, not the demo

Post by Bigedmond »

I don't know about you, but this game had the hairs on my arms, my neck, even my legs standing tall. The combination of music, and plain freaky feeling the environments gave you made this game easily worth 60 bucks for the DVD collectors edition.

SP: By far the best game play out there. There are times where are are expecting something to happen, so you nerves start going, and then there is nothing. But there are times where you just get hit in the head with a 2x4, and cant do anything about it.

MP: Lacking a lot. The demo map is by far the best map. The other maps are far to claustrophobic. I felt trapped on a lot of them, but i am hoping the mod community makes some really good maps. I know i am planning on being one of those working on them.

Overall: Great game. Seriously up for game of the year in my books because of the SP game play. Plus the fact that the SDK will be released soon, makes the game worth more when the mod community puts out a bunch of new content.

I have to agree. SP was awsome. There were more than a few times I actually jumped and the ending reminded me of HL2. There has to be another. The game had a great story making you want to play more to find out what was going to happen next.

I haven't played MP but from what I hear it pretty much sucks but I didn't get the game for MP. I wanted a game to play in the dark that would scare the crap out of me. It did that just fine! :supz:

Seemed a bit overdone if you ask me. Practically half of the messages I hear on answering machines or over the comlink start dropping f-bombs no later than ten words into the dialogue.

Felt like they were doing it to make the characters seem more realistic but then ended up making them less realistic because they used it so often it didn't have any impact anymore. I was pretty much counting on hearing the f-bombs everytime I got a message.

Minor gripe I suppose. :P

It's weird though, the demo completely freaked me out, almost as much as DOOM3 did on some maps, but the full game felt quite a bit meeker.

I played the game all the way thought. I thought it was a great game with really no area's that dragged on like Doom 3.

I began playing it, until a corridor turned to fire and the girl startted walking toward me...then i died. Pretty cool though.
