They are around but most people shy away from forums now a days as they think social media is a better way to communicate (it is NOT). Forums are great for ongoing discussions and hopefully people will realize this and come back into the fold before they all go away.
I game mostly on my PS4 and PS3 as my GTX660 video card is slowly dying and new video cards are frigging expensive

I'm still here gaming away on my pc
Love my rig and play almost everyday. I play a number of games but 90% FPS. I currently play 7 days to die, rising storm 2, warframe and killing floor 2. Sometimes I switch back to old games for nostalgia and for the good old days.
In fact I'll start a thread titled what games do you currently play?
