PeaceMaker is a cross-cultural political video game simulation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which is currently being developed under the auspices of Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a pervasive and long running global dilemma. It is at once a political, religious, and regional conflict whose roots can be traced back thousands of years. Many aspects of the conflict have a universal importance and are deeply related to social, economic , and foreign policy issues throughout the world.

In PeaceMaker, a one-player game, the player takes the role of either the Israeli or Palestinian Prime Minister. The player must act and react to ingame events in order to establish a stable resolution to the conflict before his or her term in office is up. Peace is a fragile and difficult goal to achieve, but as this game will show, it is the only way to resolve one of the longest running conflicts mankind has ever faced.

PeaceMaker will be playable online for free and made globally accessible for people to use world-wide, including students and classrooms in the U.S., Israel and Palestine.

Im 100% against this since it is not a matter on which to make a game about, even if it is to show peace.

Unless there is absolutley no bias in this game, which i seriously doubt, its gonna cause outrage within the arab world.

How can you have a people group make peace, when their religious belief is to drive the Jews into the sea and bleed their children out to fertilize the land....

Tim, please point me wrong if i am on this, but wouldnt you be well annoyed if some people turn up and decided to make a house in your garden? Not only this but later they spread to take your house using gruiella and terrorism etc? After they have done so they slowly start removing all previous occupents... (thats you) out of the house... and then destroy it and build their own claiming it was their god-given right?

Now for arguments sake we will call you the Palastinians and them the israelis.. you see where im going with this?

The "state" if it can be called that, of israel was originally formed by people coming into previously settled land and removing the original occupents by acts of terrorism. Thats right, its something thats usually left out of text books and the like. The israelis used lots of terrorist activities and tactics to remove the Palastinians from their land in the first place... but no-one seemed to care back in the 1950's/60's/70's.

Also i think you should be careful about what you say, thats a very serious allegation which has no roots in Islam. It is a modern ideology that has been brought about by hardship and despair that the Palastinians suffer and thus they have truned to the only thing they can, God.

grunt i find your stereotypical view of the arabs very disturbing but also very normal for a US soldier... you are all products of a propoganda machine.

for you to say all arabs are suicide bombers, cowards, garbage etc... just goes to show how ill-informed you are about the arabs and the true middle east in general and how much you really know about the problems that exist, and yet you are the ones that claim to be bringing peace to the region? HOW may i ask?

Last time i checked, the number of civilians killed by suicide bombers was MUCH less than the number killed "accidentally" by the US troops in iraq ONLY and please remember this conflict has been going on for decades not years, and lets not even get to the legitimacy of one against the other.
