I still vote for Darklands by MPS in 1992. You can find it on abandonware sites and it requires DosBox to run on winxp and most modern computers but i never tired of this game i got it when it was new and i still play.

The newest one that comes out on September 14th is called Fable, for XBox. This game will be amazing. It's made by Lionhead Studios; the creators of Black & White. I'm almost positive this game will be top notch.
