Its being made by Will Wright, the maker of the Sims and Sim City. (Not to be confused with Frank Miller's Sin City)

Its being published by EA

Its been considered the second coming of sliced bread.

Its a civilization building game that also lets you change the course of how your civilization evolves through the ages.

It spans from the stone age all the way to colonizing multiple planets.

It will probably make tons of money and spawn all kinds of sequels, expansion packs and ports to cell phones, consoles and such.

It uses a proprietary engine.

Spore looks utterly amazing... im speechless whenever i see a trailer for it.

This Video is actually a demonstration that Will Wright did at the 2005 Game Developer's Conference, so you can only imagine how far the game has come in the time between now and then.

I am only running a Opteron 146 with a 6600GT so I doubt my system will be able to handle this. I have been following this game for a while and it appears to be worthy of the hype it has generated.

I think you might be waiting a while for this...
Redwood City, California-based EA said it was no longer counting on revenue from Spore, a game where players build organisms from scratch, in the fiscal year ending in March 2008, adding that the game could be delayed until fiscal 2009.
