Provide Enhanced Multitasking Capabilities
MIAMI, FL - May 26, 2005 - Alienware(r), the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, and professional systems, announced the availability of the new dual-core Intel(r) Pentium(r) D processor on Alienware Area-51(r) 5500 desktops, Area-51(r) ALX desktops, and MJ-12 5500 workstations. Equipped with the powerful Pentium D processor, Alienware systems deliver increased responsiveness and performance when performing multiple tasks.

Alienware systems powered by the Intel Pentium D allow users to accomplish more by featuring the cutting-edge technology of two processing cores, each with its own set of resources, on one chip. With dual-core processing, system efficiency is improved when doing such things as running multiple data-intensive applications simultaneously or managing and editing music, video, and photos.

The Intel Pentium D processor includes advancements like 2MB L2 cache that delivers quicker response times during gaming, video editing, and picture rendering. Pentium D-based Alienware systems also include 800 MHz FSB for faster information flow and Intel's Execute Disable Bit technology for added protection against virus attacks. In addition to the Pentium D, Area-51 5500, Area-51 ALX, and MJ-12 5500 systems are available to be configured with the dual-core Intel Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840.

"Backed by their choice of dual-core Intel Pentium processors, Alienware users will shorten their work times with systems designed for optimum performance and equipped to handle demanding tasks simultaneously," said Patrick Cooper, director of product management for Alienware. "Dual-core Alienware systems are helping to simplify the busy lifestyles of our customers."
