Video Game Industry Executives and Educators Come Together at Game Education Summit, June 10-11 in Dallas

DETAILS:

The Game Education Summit provides a venue for educators and industry leaders to discuss skill sets required to meet the needs of an $18 billion entertainment sector and a growing serious games industry.

Keynote speakers include Warren Spector from Junction Point Studios, Mark Meyers from Disney Interactive Studios, Electronic Arts' Colleen McCreary, and Dr. Peter Raad from The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University.

Sponsors include Sony Computer Entertainment, Dell University, Mary-Margaret.com, GarageGames, PowerUp Games, Softimage, Wacom, Course Technology PTR, International Game Developers Association, and The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University.

Sessions will cover topics such as teaching methodologies, starting a game development program, core curriculum topics, research collaboration, and increasing diversity in the gaming industry. Attendees will also be able to view and participate in a "living classroom" where Southern Methodist University graduate students will present their student game projects as part of their game studies course.
