Major Enhancement Available Now
ALLEN, Texas -- Jun. 16, 2008 WiQuest Communications, Inc., the worldwide leader in complete ultrawideband solutions, today announced that they are the first company to ship Wireless USB software driver solutions supporting Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound audio for Windows XP and Windows Vista in its latest release - Version 1.4. With these new features, consumers will enjoy CD quality audio in Stereo or Surround Sound. This is the same excellent Surround Sound audio experience as is currently provided with wired speakers, but now possible using Wireless USB.
"WiQuest's leadership in providing a complete Wireless USB solution for our customers is the reason we are the first to deliver revolutionary features such as high-end Wireless USB audio," said Todd Brown, WiQuest VP of sales. "Wireless USB audio is a required feature on new multi-media devices such as Wireless Docking(R) Stations and multi-media hubs to provide high-quality audio on your desktop, wirelessly. This is another major capability that WiQuest is providing to enable a complete and superb wireless multi-media user experience."
WiQuest is also the only Wireless USB solutions provider shipping advanced audio features that support Windows Isochronous USB Audio. Isochronous audio transfer is the most optimized technique for allowing audio data packet streaming from notebooks to widely-deployed wired USB speakers. It is now for the first time available to enable Wireless USB devices to wirelessly transfer high-end audio from Notebooks to USB speakers.
"WiQuest ensures a positive user experience for consumers by providing early releases of software to our industry partners and customers," said Rafi Bar, WiQuest senior VP of software and hardware engineering. "This enables a rapidly expanding ecosystem of products and applications available to consumers that support the new features they demand."
WiQuest's complete solution for Wireless USB Audio includes associated device drivers for both Windows XP and Windows Vista. Version 1.4 also includes the new icon-based WiQuest Control Center (WiCC) and ease-of-use enhancements. Version 1.4 is shipping to customers now.
