New Bigfoot Partner Program Delivers PC Network Acceleration of Voice Chat, Additional Key Gaming Services
SAN FRANCISCO, Game Developers Conference - March 24, 2009 - Bigfoot
Networks, the technology company behind the Killer(tm) line of gaming
network cards, today announced partnership agreements with TeamSpeak and
Vivox to deliver accelerated voice chat on the new Killer Xeno(tm) platform.
Killer Xeno, the company's second-generation gaming network card, was
officially launched yesterday to bring PC gamers the ultimate gaming
experience with hardware-accelerated voice chat. Bigfoot is also introducing
its new Partner Program, which allows third party developers and service
providers to combine Killer Xeno platform features with key product
offerings, ensuring optimal gaming and network performance.
Bigfoot's relationships with industry-leading voice chat service providers
TeamSpeak and Vivox will give millions of online gamers worldwide a
"hiccup-free," voice-enabled online gaming experience with Killer Xeno.
TeamSpeak, a leading provider of voice communication software and integrated
solutions, and Bigfoot are optimizing the TeamSpeak 3 VoIP client for the
Killer Xeno platform.
"We are excited to be working with Bigfoot Networks and delighted that
TeamSpeak 3 will be an integral part of its next-generation Xeno product,"
said Florence Espinoza, director of sales, TeamSpeak. "TeamSpeak has catered
to the online gaming community for years, attracting the same extreme and
competitive-play users that are attracted to Bigfoot's products. We are
confident that the integrated hardware solution we are working on will meet
their demands."
Vivox, the industry proven provider of voice chat for MMOGs, virtual worlds
and Web- based communities, has also partnered with Bigfoot to deliver a
Killer Xeno-powered Voon(tm) client. Voon is Vivox's newest stand-alone
voice application for gamers designed to host live group interactions and
large scale events, hosted and managed on the Vivox Network.
The Killer Xeno platform is built around a dedicated Network Processing
Unit (NPU) with a full-featured, embedded Linux operating system and native
audio capabilities. This system provides the critical performance required
by today's applications for highly responsive interactivity, including
online gaming and voice chat. With Killer Xeno, online gamers can use
multiple network-intensive applications while enjoying the highest quality
voice chat experience.
"The goal of the Bigfoot Partner Program is to bring a wealth of online
applications and services to an increasing number of Killer gaming network
card customers," said George Thorn, vice president of business development,
Bigfoot Networks. "Our customers want to do more while they game, including
voice chat, downloading, Instant Message, streaming music and Web browsing
via overlays. We have a unique and powerful platform that can enable a wide
variety of real-time, Web-connected applications without impacting game
performance. We are actively seeking new partners to join us in enabling
this richer online gaming experience."
Bigfoot is also announcing a co-marketing agreement with Raptr, the social
platform for people who like to play and discover games across multiple
platforms. This partnership allows both companies to cross-promote each
other's brand. Bigfoot will distribute the Raptr client, bundling the
product with Killer Xeno. The Bigfoot-Raptr combination will provide a
premium gaming utility for users and a platform to communicate with them.
Gamers will be able to determine what games their friends are playing across
various gaming platforms, and will have the ability to instant message their
friends and share their achievements.
