Taipei—When Computex, Asia's largest information technology exhibition, opened its doors on 31 May 2011, FUNROBOT, a subsidiary of MSI, rolled out an array of smart cleaning robots—the iCleaner M800, iCleaner R500, and iCleaner R500D.
The top-end M800 is equipped with three sets of six ultrasonic anti-collision radars to keep it from bumping into furniture. It also boasts three times the suction of similar products currently on the market. At only 5cm, the R500 is the world's thinnest robot sweeper, so it can slip in and out of places inaccessible to other sweepers. Also only 5cm thin, the R500D packs infrared anti-collision sensors and a docking station, enabling it to avoid bumping into things and automatically return to its recharge cradle.
iCleaner M800—3X the suction, anti-collision, anti-dust mite
The iCleaner M800 is equipped with a highly sensitive ultrasonic sensor, so when it approaches obstacles, it slows down, brakes, and changes directions, enabling it to do a great job of sweeping right next to things without actually bumping into them. In addition, scientific studies confirm that the ultrasonic frequency of over 40,000 Hertz (humans can't hear anything above 20,000 Hz) effectively inhibits the growth of dust mites.
What's more, the suction of the iCleaner M800 is more than three times more powerful than similar competing products. The dual side brush design ensures that dirt, debris, dust, and hair lurking in corners don't stand a chance. The ultrasonic anti-collision design reduces annoying noises caused by bumping into things, so that "man and machine live in peaceful harmony." The iCleaner M800 is ideal choice for pet owners, because it sports an extra-large dirt receptacle and there is no brush next to the dirt intake under the chassis, so you don't have the problem of hair wrapping around brushes.
The iCleaner M800 returns to its recharging cradle automatically and the high-capacity lithium ion battery recharges in just two hours. The special wheel material and the design of the suspension system enable the iCleaner M800 to climb to heights of up to 15mm, so it can travel between wooden floors and carpets and cross electrical wires and wire clamps easily and without causing damage. You can let the iCleaner M800 vacuum your house unsupervised and worry-free.
iCleaner R500—at 5cms, the world's slimmest
The iCleaner R500 is a mere 5cm in height, so it can slip under things, like beds, sofas, and cabinets, without getting stuck. The iCleaner R500 also features smart dual-side brushes and vacuum system for cleaning up dirt, debris, and hair. The eight 6cm arms of each of the R500's powerful brushes are flexible, allowing them to conform to the shape of the area being swept to ensure thorough cleaning. There are no brushes on the undercarriage, eliminating the issue of hair wrapping around brushes. Some robot sweepers get so clogged with hair that they can't sweep things up, so that they do little more than just redistribute dirt. That's not an issue with the R500.
iCleaner R500 sports an impact-absorbing bumper that, when touched, causes it to change directions. Furthermore, each of the three wheels packs AI sensors, the sensitivity of which can be adjusted in accordance with the layout of your house. For example, if a sweeper falls down the stairs, the sensitivity is probably too low, or if it won't come off of a rug, the sensitivity is most likely too high. The R500 resolves these issues.
iCleaner R500D—ultra-thin + infrared anti-collision + automatic docking
In addition to also being very slender, the all-new iCleaner R500D is equipped with an infrared anti-collision sensor and a recharge cradle. It also avoids up to 80% of bumps with furniture when compared to the R500. It also automatically returns to its recharging cradle and runs for some 90 minutes on each charge. The R500D, an excellent choice for large or small homes, tips the scales at just 1.4kg, so it's easy to move from location to location. And the one touch operation is so easy that even a child can run it.
