Corsair Announces Immediate Availability of DDR1 XMS-4000 2GB Solutions

-- The new PC4000 high-density modules deliver affordability with blazing-fast performance --
Fremont, CA (Wednesday, October 26, 2005) – Corsair® Memory, Inc., a worldwide leader in high performance memory and cooling products for enthusiasts and overclockers, today announces immediate availability of the XMS-4000PT 2GB kit. Adding to Corsair’s comprehensive line-up of 1GB modules and 2GB kits, the new XMS-4000PT kit is designed to deliver high memory density and excellent performance at affordable prices.

Available in both 1GB single and 2GB kit packages, the XMS-4000PT is guaranteed to run at 500MHz at 3-4-4-8-1T. Taking full advantage of Corsair’s stringent RAM screening process and the specially designed BrainPower PCB, the memory targets enthusiasts who demand the highest frequency at 1T command rate for maximum system performance. In in-house tests, these modules have shown excellent performance at stock speed while providing significant headroom for overclocking. Based on the same design philosophy as XMS products, the new XMS-4000PT aims to deliver maximum Front Side Bus (FSB) frequency without excessive voltage requirements, hence lengthening the life of the memory modules and the motherboard.

Demonstrated in games like BattleField2, the additional memory bandwidth from a 2GB kit enhances game play by delivering more frame rates per second, thus amplifying the overall user experience by providing a smoother game play. Designed with the budge t gamers in mind, Corsair carefully crafted the new XMS kit to extend Corsair’s performance guarantee while keeping the cost down.

“We believe the TWINX2048-4000PT provides solid performance at a very aggressive price,” noted John Beekley, VP of Applications Engineering at Corsair. “These specially screened two gigabyte memory pairs provide a great price/performance solution for current Athlon 64 based enthusiast platforms.”

The XMS-4000PT is currently available through Corsair’s worldwide authorized distributors, resellers, retailers, and e-tailers. The introductory MSRP for a 2GB matched pair is $281 USD. The Corsair part number are TWINX2048-4000PT (matched pair) and CMX1024-4000PT (single). I think they are the same chips... just speed binned for higher speeds...
They should be more expensive than the 3500LL Ram... But the 3500LL Might do PC4000 => the new chips a guaranteed to reach PC4000 speeds.

As far as I know all 2GB dimms use Infenon C-5 IC's (except Crucial, who use Micron IC's)
