Kingston's Fully Buffered DIMM Memory Modules to Support Intel's Server Boards

Kingston Expands FB-DIMM Family to be Used in Conjunction with Intel's Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor-Based Servers and Intel 5000 Series Chipsets
Fountain Valley, CA (May 23, 2006), Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent worldwide leader in memory products, today announced the expansion of its Fully Buffered DIMM
(FB-DIMM) memory modules to include new DDR2 667-MHz speeds to support Intel® based servers. As the leading independent manufacturer of memory modules, Kingston® has made a strategic decision to continue committing major resources to support next-generation memory technology. The company has become a leading manufacturer and supplier of FB-DIMM memory to Intel and the industry. Kingston's FB-DIMM memory modules will support New Dual-Core Intel Xeon® processor-based server platforms.

Kingston's FB-DIMM modules are a high-speed, high-density memory solution for related technology workstation and server platforms. Kingston's FB-DIMMs offer memory flexibility and more expansion options and comply with JEDEC standards. FB-DIMM memory architecture allows up to six memory channels with each channel supporting up to eight dual-rank memory modules and allows for two channels to simultaneously read and write in concurrent transactions.

"Using Kingston's FB-DIMM technology on Intel's high-end servers result in improved scalability, flexibility, and higher capacity while the same new technology will increase speed and performance," said J.K. Tsai, director of technology, Kingston. "With Kingston already a strategic FB-DIMM supplier to major OEMs, Kingston's FB-DIMMs provide a solution to many signal integrity and quality concerns." continued Tsai.
Kingston engineers have developed special boards and test-programs that are used to conduct "parametric" and characterization testing on high-end Agilent testers to ensure that FB-DIMMs are functional and comply with specifications. Kingston's FB-DIMMs come with a lifetime warranty and 24/7 technical support plus the legendary reliability that makes Kingston the leader in memory.
