V-ENABLE Appoints Speech Technology Veteran as Chief Scientist

Seasoned researcher brings over 20 years' experience to mobile search provider
San Diego, CA - December 11, 2006 - Voice-based mobile search technology provider V-ENABLE, Inc. has appointed Dr. Venkata Ramana Rao Gadde as vice president and chief speech scientist.

Dr. Gadde is charged with furthering V-ENABLE's market leading accuracy and speed in the mobile voice-search industry through proprietary statistical modeling, self learning algorithms and refinements to the company's core search platform. In addition, Dr. Gadde will contribute to V-ENABLE's patent portfolio as the company aims to enhance its intellectual property with a host of new filings.

Prior to joining V-ENABLE, Dr. Gadde was senior research engineer at the Speech Technology and Research Laboratory at SRI International. There, he led a project called Speech in Noisy Environments (SPINE) Evaluation, which focused on developing speech recognition systems that work under noisy conditions Under Dr. Gadde's guidance, SRI won an assessment sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, in 2001.

Dr. Gadde also served as a faculty member in computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), a highly-respected engineering university in Madras. From 1988-1996, he served as a lecturer and assistant professor while pursuing a doctorate degree in computer science. In addition, Dr. Gadde has written and published over 30 research papers in different areas of speech technology, and currently holds two patents around dynamic noise compensation and clustering methods for acoustic models.
