Antec Introduces Energy Efficient Power Supply to its TruePower Line

TruePower Quattro offers green power with low consumption levels and minimal electrical waste to high performance users
Fremont, CA - June 20, 2007 - Antec, Inc., the leading global brand of high-performance computer components for the PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, today announced its latest power supply unit (PSU), TruePower Quattro. Antec's most powerful PSU is designed for high efficiency while providing the ultimate in green energy for system builders and support for the latest generation of dual video cards.

TruePower Quattro is the most efficient power supply to date in Antec's successful TruePower line due to Active Power Clamping technology. The active clamp forward converter allows the use of smaller components, reducing the overall size of the PSU to further conserve energy.

The environmentally friendly unit is 80PLUS(R) certified, operating at up to 85% efficiency rates to deliver continuous full-rated power while guaranteeing a high level of performance. In addition, Active Power Factor Correction helps to reduce electrical waste for effective energy use. The PSU is fitted with heavy-duty protection circuitry to prevent damage resulting from short circuits, over voltages, under voltages and over current to keep systems running safely and smoothly.

TruePower Quattro is available in two models: 850 Watts and 1000 Watts, making it Antec's highest wattage power supply. To provide an increase in stability, the power supply comes equipped with four +12V rails for equal distribution of power throughout for the system. Universal Input automatically adjusts for 100V to 240V power grids, and Quattro is designed to support EPS12V v2.91 and ATX12V systems.

Quattro's Advanced Cable Management system along with sleeved cables reduce clutter and provide better airflow paths thus making for a cleaner and cooler system. For quieter operation, the PSU comes equipped with an 80mm low noise cooling fan for reduced overall system noise. Four PCI-E connectors uniformly power up to two new generation video cards. In addition, to reflect the high-performance interior of the power supply, the exterior features a colorful racing stripe design.

"Antec is driven to create higher performance products that use less energy and lead the green computing revolution," said Scott Richards, senior vice president at Antec. "TruePower Quattro hits the mark with environmentally conscious users, offering Antec's maximum power available at either 850 Watts or 1000 Watts for advanced system components while ensuring less energy consumption and electronic waste."

TruePower Quattro 850W is available now for an estimated street price of $249. TruePower Quattro 1000W will be available in July for $299 through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors. They are backed by Antec's Quality 5-Year Warranty for parts and labor. For additional product information and full technical specifications, please visit http://www.antec.com .
