Gennum Closes Sale of Consumer Headset Product Line to CellPoint
BURLINGTON, Ontario -- Aug. 27, 2007 Gennum Corporation (TSX:GND) today announced that it has closed the previously announced sale of its consumer headset product line to CellPoint Connect AB, a leading provider of wired and Bluetooth(R) enabled wireless headsets/earphones. The sale is part of Gennum's strategy to streamline its product line in order to focus on its high-speed mixed signal products for the video and data communications market.
Gennum's consumer headset line includes the nXZEN(TM) and nX 6000(TM) products, all incorporating Bluetooth technology. CellPoint currently offers the Flamingo line of headsets and is set to launch a new lifestyle brand "Happy Ear."
Gennum and CellPoint reached a definitive agreement for the sale on August 9, 2007.
