SPEC calls for 2008 Benchmark Workshop papers
WARRENTON, Va., September 27, 2007 – The Standard Performance Evaluation Corp. (SPEC) has issued a call for papers on performance evaluation subjects for the SPEC 2008 Benchmark Workshop, a free event to be held Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel.
Extended abstracts of four to six pages are due on Monday, November 26. Notification of acceptance will take place on December 17, and full papers (10-12 pages, double-column IEEE format) will be due on January 21, 2008. Papers can be submitted to the workshop program committee at [email protected]. José Nelson Amaral of the University of Alberta will serve as program chair for the workshop.
The SPEC 2008 Benchmark Workshop will bring together developers and users of performance evaluation software. Presentations will center on currently available benchmark suites; use of benchmarks in industry, academia and government; and benchmarking methodologies. An award in memory of Kaivalya Dixit, SPEC’s co-founder and long-time president, will be given to the person making the best contribution to the workshop.
Those attending the workshop are also invited to participate in selected sessions during SPEC’s annual meeting, January 28 to February 1, 2007.
