I hope hd dvd wins for the consumer's sake. It is the best for price/what you get. hd dvd players can be had for less than half the price of a blue ray player. so what if the size difference 10-20 gb movies just dont' need to be that big anyway. Games don't either. Just because they can be doesn't mean they should. the picture quality is the same since neither can even output what the disk itself has (1080p). the only other difference I see is uncompressed audio which only is nice for those with lots of money and rediculously expensive sound systems that aren't running in dobly or dts mode anyway.

Plus I'm tired of finding out about all of Sony's sneaky business practices like root kits and the like.

I'm not a big fan of Sony, but I see Blu Ray coming out on top in long run.

Right now HD DVD is winning on price points, obviously, but eventually Blu Ray will be more cost competitive as the more expensive production processes will be brought into check.

Look for the PS3 to be instrumental in bringing Blu Ray technology into millions of homes, and with its much higher potential capacity, I see it as the next front runner while HD DVD slips silently to the side.
