(Taipei, Taiwan – August 19, 2008) Lanner Electronics Inc., a leading manufacturer of network-centric computing platforms, is pleased to announce its participation at this year's Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, from August 19-21, 2008. As an Intel technology partner, Lanner will showcase two new platform products based on the Intel EP80579 SOC.
Lanner employs the latest Intel technologies in designing and manufacturing cutting-edge video, networking, storage and embedded computing platforms, and at this year's IDF, Lanner will participate in the Intel Technology Showcase to exhibit several Intel-based platforms including the Lanner FW-7570 network appliance platform and the Lanner NS04-5130 storage networking platform. Both new Lanner products are built on Intel's latest generation EP80579 integrated processor, which combines processor, north bridge and south bridge functions on the same chip, effectively eliminating internal bottlenecks and providing a faster and more reliable architecture with just one-third the real estate and power consumption of multi-chip solutions.
The Lanner FW-7570 is a high-performance, compact rackmount appliance designed as a platform for a wide range of network communication applications, including gateway security, antivirus, anti-spam, load balancing and unified threat management. The FW-7570 supports up to eight Gigabit networking ports for optimal network throughput, two DDR2 sockets for up to 4GB of memory, and one 3.5" or two 2.5" SATA drive bays. The new FW-7570 builds on Lanner’s expertise in designing advanced appliance platforms that provide an outstanding combination of performance and value for network applications.
The Lanner NS04-5130 network storage platform is also based on the Intel EP80579 integrated processor. The NS04-5130 is the latest in Lanner’s line of network storage products, which combine impressive performance with low power consumption and cooling requirements, as well as significantly reduced deployment and maintenance costs, higher reliability and longer life spans.
