SH241 Offers SouthWing's Exclusive WhisperMode(TM) Technology
CHICAGO --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 27, 2008 SouthWing, Europe's leading developer of Bluetooth(R) technology, has introduced a new feature-rich "hands-free" wireless headset that is being distributed exclusively at retail stores in the U.S. by AT&T. Popular across Europe, the state-of-the-art SH241 includes unique voice, connectivity and style features that distinguish it from other Bluetooth headsets available on the market today.
The SH241 headset offers WhisperMode, an innovative feature exclusive to SouthWing that "whispers" an incoming call number to the user through the earpiece. With WhisperMode, the user can quietly, but audibly, hear who is calling, then decide whether to answer the call, reject it or let it be answered by voicemail. SouthWing is the first company to bring this unique feature to the U.S. market.
"The WhisperMode feature makes it easy to screen calls at inopportune times, such as during a business meeting, at a wedding ceremony or while driving," says Bart Huisken, founder of SouthWing. "In addition, with all the new hands-free calling legislation going into effect across the U.S., the SH241 helps drivers to stay safe, while allowing you to take a call if you need to."
In addition to WhisperMode, the SH241 features other new enhancements, including:
-- PUSH4(TM) Button
The SH241 gives users the ability to store a "favorite" number for effortless one-touch dialing to that number. This feature works beautifully with AT&T's popular *8 VoiceInfo service, which provides direct access to rich audio content like sports, stock quotes, horoscopes, weather and much more.
-- Voice Menu
This SouthWing feature provides a voice-enabled interface that helps navigate the user through menus, creating a hassle-free experience for non-technical customers.
-- Auto Call Pick-Up
This feature automatically answers all incoming calls after three seconds when activated with no need to touch the headset or the phone.
-- Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC)
One of the very few HAC Bluetooth headsets on the market. It also has a very loud audio output.
-- Personalized Style
Three interchangeable covers, 12 ring tones, and four different ear buds allow users to personalize their headset to fit their own level of style and comfort.
The SH241 also has up to 8 hours of talk time and 250 hours of stand-by time with an automatic power save after 12 hours of inactivity. Huisken says the unit has a short learning curve and comes right out of the box in "auto-pairing" mode, which reduces confusion for first-time Bluetooth buyers. A secure metal clip allows for easy carrying, whether clipped to a shirt or coat.
"The SH241 is a powerful and lightweight headset with all the bells and whistles that the typical business-user demands, but also includes practical features that will appeal to the non-technical user," says Huisken. "Combined with a great price point, the SH241 is a quality headset option for many customers."
Sleek and simple to use, the SH241 will retail for $39.99 at all AT&T company-owned stores in the U.S. and at http://www.wireless.att.com.
