Hyperdesk Unleashes The Official Crysis Warhead Windows XP Desktop Theme

Hyperdesk Offers Crysis Warhead Enthusiasts the Ultimate XP Experience

COOPER CITY, Fla. – (October 16, 2008) – The Skins Factory, one of the world's premier user interface design studios and creator of Hyperdesk, an exciting new brand of Windows XP desktop enhancements, announced today the Crysis Warhead Windows XP desktop theme – the perfect accessory for gamers who have picked up Crytek and EA Partners’ latest critically-acclaimed hit, Crysis Warhead. The Crysis Hypersuite will be available for FREE with the purchase of an Ultra Special Edition Crysis PC at www.TigerDirect.com, and available for free download at www.hyperdesk.com and NVIDIA NZONE.

The Crysis Warhead® Windows XP Desktop Theme

From the artists who created Alienware’s phenomenally popular desktop themes (Invader, ALXMorph, Darkstar, Superman, Star Wars & others) comes a fresh invasion of the hottest gaming desktops - introducing Crysis Warhead. An ultra-slick hypersuite designed to completely transform your Windows XP desktop environment into a super-futuristic, hi-tech gaming experience.

This hypersuite contains 3 distinct Crysis Warhead hyperthemes for Windows XP, and a “ready for combat” icon set that includes 15 different icons as well as themed wallpaper. The hypersuite will be available for FREE with the purchase of a special edition Ultra "Crysis Warhead" Optimized Gaming PC that includes an Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz, 2GB DDR2, 250GB SATA II HDD, DVDRW Dual Layer, NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT, Gigabit LAN, G31M3-F and Windows XP Professional as well as select websites from Electronic Arts and NZONE. It will also be available for free via the official Crysis Warhead website and Hyperdesk.com.

“As die-hard gamers, when we were afforded the opportunity to work with Electronic Arts and NZONE again, and now Ultra PC, we jumped at the chance. We wanted to capture the essence of the Crysis Warhead experience and bring it to life on your Windows XP desktop. Whether that is an armored hard drive icon or the nanosuit-styled wallpaper, we think Crysis Warhead fans will understand this was built by one of their own,” says The Skins Factory CEO Jeff Schader. “Users will be thrilled when they fire up this gaming hypersuite and immerse themselves in what we’ve created.”

Crysis Warhead is the standalone follow up to Crytek’s award-winning first-person shooter Crysis. Containing a new single player campaign featuring Crytek’s trademark open-ended gameplay and stunning visuals along with Crysis Wars®, the exciting new multiplayer suite for the Crysis universe, Crysis Warhead has picked up Editor’s Choice Awards from both IGN and GameSpot and is a tremendous value at only $29.99. It does not require the original Crysis to play.

hyperdesk is pretty sweet looking. I'm not sure I could bring myself to pay for a theme, but they appear to be WELL thought out and the execution looks AWESOME.

I think I'm going to give this Crysis Warhead one a go for free, but the black/blue Subspace would look KILLER on my black/blue themed gamer 900.

Look into uxtheme.dll hacks, I did that awhile back to install custom themes, was pretty simple and a lot cheaper (free) than using Stardock or Hyperdesk themes.

the Hyperdesk Crysis Warhead desktop is pretty well done. Installation was a breeze, as is switching back to the normal XP desktop. My only complaint is that I use a dual taskbar (unlock the taskbar, drag up 1 "click") and the Hyperdesk doesn't scale to the 2nd level of the taskbar well. There is a split in the systray which makes it look a bit unsightly.

Aside from that, the background, icons and changes to active windows looks very good. I'm a huge fan of darker themes (who wants rolling hills and cloudy skies?), and the Crysis Warhead "Beta" theme is awesome. It has a dark gray taskbar and the active windows and scrollbars are kind of a marble gray. Most of the items have a hover or click highlight color of red like the nanosuit in max strength mode. Fonts are changed themewide adding a nice touch that I often overlook when creating my own "themes".

All in all, Hyperdesk has done a nice job with this desktop, and the work by The Skins Factory is awesome as always.
