Beta testers wanted for Shattered Horizon

New screenshots showcase zero gravity FPS for PCs

Image
HELSINKI, FINLAND – JUNE 16, 2009 – Futuremark® Games Studio today
announced that they are seeking PC gamers to test their zero gravity
first-person shooter, Shattered Horizon™. Gamers can sign up for the
private beta test at the official website.
http://www.shatteredhorizon.com

Shattered Horizon, first announced at the Leipzig Games Convention last
year, sees players fight to survive in the aftermath of a catastrophic
Moon mining accident that throws billions of tons of rocky debris into
near-Earth space. Futuremark has released two new screenshots
showcasing the game's unique zero gravity environments.

"Playing a multiplayer FPS in zero gravity offers gameplay
possibilities that simply cannot be found in conventional shooters,"
said Antti Summala, Lead Game Designer at Futuremark Games Studio. "I
invite every gamer looking for an FPS that offers something new and
different to sign up for our beta test."

The beta is open to PC gamers from North America and Europe aged 18 and
above. The minimum hardware requirements are Windows Vista, DirectX 10
graphics card, dual core processor, Steam account and a broadband
Internet connection. No previous beta testing experience is necessary,
just enthusiasm and time to play.

Cool...I get nothing when I try to go to that site. Might be the firewall here at work or the servers are overloaded from entries.

When I went to the site to try and download I had to refresh one and it took a second for the flash to load.... guess they are getting some traffic today.

Well with Windows 7 coming out very soon Windows XP will be two versions old, so that makes sense. There is no reason to stay with XP if you ask me... Vista SP2 is very solid and Windows 7 RC1 is awesome as well, but I've only used it on netbooks.

Windows 7 video drivers are horrid. I can't even play znes on my computer right with it!! My speedstep kicks down into low multi and it won't run games right, when it does it glitches way more than normal. I had to switch back to XP just to wait for it to get a little better. And my CPU usage is ALWAYS at like 80%, Windows media center wouldn't stay closed and ran at 25-55% of my CPU use the entire time if I closed it, it would come back.
