Intel has only told some first-tier mobo makers and OEM clients about the decision, and the company is not expected to make a public announcement, the sources said.

While i think they will move things around in the market i doubt that they are going to discontiue selling low end chipsets as people like Dell use them. I have a hard time beliving that Dell is going to start using via, sis, uli, or ati any time soon on their low end products.
