Astek Corporation Announces 10Gbps Content Processor AdvancedMC Board with Hardware-Optimized DPI
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --(Business Wire)-- Jan 20, 2010 Astek Corporation announced the A8T84140-AMC, an Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC™) that brings the performance of the LSI Corporation (http://www.lsi.com) Tarari® T1000 Content Processor to the PICMG® (http://www.picmg.org) xTCA market. The A8T84140-AMC board contains 4 high-speed LSI Tarari® T1050, low-cost application-specific standard products (ASSPs) optimized for Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), each of which boasts up to 512MBy of DDR2 Memory for pattern storage and state-full inspection, capable of performing DPI at wire-speed of 10Gbps.
The A8T84140-AMC provides processor off-load performance of regular expression pattern matching to enable DPI functionality in concert with standard processor AdvancedMC products such as PowerPC and x86 PrAMC boards. This allows platform designers to use DPI methodologies to implement real time Content Filtering and other applications, such as Anti-virus, Anti-spam, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Content Based Routing, QoS based IP Routing, while preserving existing investments in Operating Systems and hardware. The Tarari® T1000 family enables enhanced security features with little impact on primary CPU utilization, due to the design criteria of low latency and low CPU overhead.
The A8T84140-AMC is supported under Linux 2.6 and is supplied with RPMs for Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® and CentOS. The card is compatible with the PICMG (www.picmg.org) AMC.0 base specification with options for compact, mid-height and full-height versions allowing the card to be installed into any AdvancedMC slot in an ATCA carrier or a µTCA® chassis. The card complies with AMC.1 subsidiary specification to support PCI-Express up to Gen2 5Gbps, and is compatible with the SCOPE Alliance (www.scope-alliance.org) profile for AMC cards (PCIe is present on AMC lanes 4 through 7).
Astek delivers hardware, and software technical support for the board and the T1000 content processors. A reference kit comes with the A8T84140-AMC that contains Linux drivers and a demo Linux applications using the T1000 to perform DPI on a TCP/IP data stream, and GREP-like pattern search in host-memory buffers.
