Arctic Sunrise's organic product could meet urgent need of Gulf of Mexico coasts
DELRAY BEACH, FL - In response to the massive BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, an Australian company has accelerated its efforts to bring its revolutionary new oil cleanup product to the United States.

The company, Arctic Sunrise, is planning live demonstrations of its patented oil absorption technology. Representatives of the company are in the US scheduling demonstrations of the product. "Arctic Sunrise had planned to introduce the oil cleanup product to the U.S. in late 2010, but moved up the timeline due to the urgent need created by the BP oil spill catastrophe," said Stephen Wessler, Arctic Sunrise Vice President.

"The urgency of this situation calls for drastic action now" Wessler said.

"What makes this product unique is its ability to hold the oil and not separate," Wessler said. "Because it holds oil, but not water, it allows for an easy cleanup of the product and the oil. Cleanup crews can plow it into the sands of beaches, either before an oil spill has reached the coast or after, and remain confident that the oil will be absorbed and not spread."

The Arctic Sun oil cleanup product is organic, made from coconut plants, and biodegradable. Because the product is granular, not liquid, it is easy to clean up after the oil has been absorbed.
